  • How can I make a booking at Solstice?
    We accept bookings online through our online booking diary only. Please note we do not take reservations by phone. On completion of a booking, you will receive a confirmation email, If you do not receive a confirmation email within 24 hours of making your booking please contact the restaurant directly so we can make sure your reservation is in our system.
  • Can I walk in without a reservation?
    Solstice is a reservation only restaurant and we do not accept walk ins for tables.
  • What is the restaurant cancellation policy?
    By making a reservation at Solstice you agree to our reservation & cancellation terms. ​ To secure your table we require a deposit of £75 per person for all reservations. The deposit paid will automatically come off your bill at the end of your meal. ​ We operate a 72 hour cancellation policy and will refund any payments made should you need to cancel within that period (minus a £5 administration charge per person). If it is later than 72 hours this deposit is non-refundable. You are most welcome to transfer your booking into someone else's name should you need to make changes at the last minute.
  • How long does a tasting menu last?
    We recommend allowing 2.5 - 3 hours for the full dining experience.
  • Is there a dress code?
    We want you to be comfortable in our home during your dining experience, we do not have a strict dress code policy. We only ask for no shorts, sleeveless t-shirts, hats, flip flops and sports shirts.
  • What menu do you offer?
    We only serve a single tasting menu focused on quality ingredients, seasonality, emphasising simplicity and sustainable practices. Our tasting menu will consist of around 15-18 individual servings starting with a series of snacks, then on to savoury dishes from both land and sea, finishing with the sweet section of desserts and petits fours.
  • Can you accommodate allergies or other dietary restrictions?
    We can usually cater for most health or allergy-related dietary requests with at least 48 hours’ notice. It is important to know that we do use nuts, gluten and other allergens in our kitchen, so while we can ensure your dishes are free of these ingredients, it is essential that you know that these ingredients are still used on the premises. If the dietary requirements dictate comprehensive changes in the menu that will result in a compromise of standards, we unfortunately might not be able to accommodate your request.
  • What are the opening hours?
    Lunch: Friday & Saturday: 12.00pm – 1.00pm ​ Dinner: Wednesday to Saturday: 7.00pm - 8.00pm ​ Closed: Sunday, Monday & Tuesday
  • Is there wheelchair access?
    Unfortunately, due to the listed status of the building, we are unable to offer wheelchair access to both the restaurant and the downstairs guestrooms. However, we can offer wheelchair access with downstairs facilities at our sister restaurant House of Tides.
  • What payment options does Solstice accept?
    Please note we do not accept cash payments at the restaurant. We do accept all debit & credit cards such as Visa, MasterCard and American Express.
  • What happens if I am running late?
    Please arrive on time for your booking, please contact info@solsticencl.com if you are running late. Please note that arriving more than 20 minutes late may result in missing part of your experience.
  • Do you allow children in the restaurant?
    Yes, we welcome children of ages 12 and above into the restaurant. Please be aware that we do not offer a children's menu for either service and a seat in the restaurant is a fixed price, regardless of age. All children should be always supervised by an adult to avoid any potential disruptions to other guests.
  • Do you allow dogs?
    Unfortunately, we do not allow dogs into the restaurant, only with the exception of guide dogs or assistance dogs.
  • Is there on-site parking?
    Unfortunately, we do not have a car park; However, there is a public car park opposite our restaurant, £1.20 per hour and free after 6pm, Also, there are several car parks within short walking distance from the restaurant.
  • Where is the nearest train station?
    Newcastle Central Station is only a 10-minute walk away from the restaurant
